Which day for a regular Edinburgh meet?

A few people have mentioned recently that it would be helpful to set a regular day for the slingmeet so it is easy to remember or work out when it will be, we know the dates well in advance so can keep them free, and easier to let newcomers know about it for example through local magazines, websites and notice boards.

Once a month seems to be the favoured frequency. What days would suit most people? The baby and toddler group use the hall on Tuesday mornings so that would be the only time we couldn't use it. Monday's there is no-one else in the building at all so it would probably rely on me being there to open / close up (not usually a problem but it would be more convenient to use it when someone else is in too incase I have to leave early / promptly like last time or if something comes up and I can't make it at all for whatever reason).

Also would morning or afternoon be better? I guess mornings are better for those with older children at school, and those with babies who tend to nap lunchtime / early afternoon, but not so good for those traveling a distance to come, and are also more time limited as people need to leave for lunch.

So - what go you think? It would be helpful to know if you could not ever make a particular day (eg as you are working), or if you'd rather not (but might be able to sometimes) as I can see it could be tricky to find a time that will always suit everyone! Thanks for your help.

The best day for us will be wednesday since we are free all day. We would prefer morning, but can also come in the afternoon if that would be better. Other times that we might be able to come is monday, thursday and friday afternoon.

I intend to go back to work Mon - Wed from April, so Thurs or Fri best for me. My wee boy (touch wood they have a place!) will be going to pre school in the mornings, finishing at 11.30, so ideally Thurs or Fri pm best for me. If it ends up another day I'm sure I'll make it along on occasion, and until April I can make pretty much any time except Fri.

hmmm, i thought this could prove tricky! it looks like thurs and fri afternoons are the only time everyone could make. as jo can't make fris until april then thurs pm will be the best option for now. i am returning to work in july and will be working thurs (and either wed or fri) so it may have to move to fri pm then (though that would clash with the glasgow meet). or maybe we should just continue as we are and alternate days so everyone can come along some of the time?

what about weekends? i know most people who came along to the recent slingmeet are also members of the 'natural mamas' babywearing forum and we discussed on there holding a joint meet next sunday - i'll start another thread about it now...

Hi there,

I live in Edinburgh and I would love to meet other mums that wear a sling.
At the moment I spend most of my time at home so find mums that love to carry their babies as I do, would be fantastic.
