Anyone about in Norfolk? Can't say I've ever seen anyone using anything other than a BabyBjorn, but there must be more of us out there!

I live in Norwich and would love some slings demonstarted, especially one that could go over both shoulders, I believe there is a single piece of fabric one that could do the job?
Can anyone advise me?

Have just joined and need to get used to this new forum, but is anyone still around in Norwich who might fancy meeting and sharing experiences, giving tips, and having a bit of an experimenting session to help me with my 12 month old? I need to start wearing him more as we are just giving our pushchair away to friends who need it more than we do... So soon, I'll have stroller for DS2 and need to carry DS3...

In Norwich and carrying 5 month old. Have selection of slings because my first refused to be put down.
Got;
Maya ring sling
Ellaroo ring sling (padded on shoulder)
Roobaby pouch sling - very easy on/off lightweight cotton
Ergo New Generation carrier
Home-made wrap around stretchy sling
If I only bought one it would be the Ergo. All the others are great for certain age ranges and situations but the Ergo is a great all rounder. Even with 2-3 year olds.
At 12 months he can go on your back - and you'll have handsfree to help the others. I got mine from Free Range Kids but other places might stock them now.
Hope that helps. Would suggest meet up but not very good at getting out at moment.

HI I have been wearing my 15 month old since she was born in a variety of different slings. My best friend makes them for me, she is amazing (shes also made my little one nappies)!
Health visitor saw me wearing my zebra patterned sling the other day and said she had someone interested in slings so I invited her round this morning to look at my selection. Would love to meet up with other wearers soon. I am in Norwich and have Monday mornings and Fridays off work.:)

Hi I have been waiting for ages to someone to respond to my message so really glad you have written. I am only free on Monday mornings and Fridays although as you are 'mad 4 boys' you might not want to meet my daughter!! Are either of those days any good for you? I live in the North of the city, happy to travel or have people to mine. Hope to 'chat' with you soon.
Simone:hello:

Hi All
My name is Melanie and I am 18 wks pregnant with my second baby. I have been fascinated by babywearing for a while now and have decided that I will be bw my second baby so to help with breastfeeding. Also as I will have an almost 2yr old boy to deal with as well and will need both hands to do all sorts of mummy things. lol!!! I am a complete novice to babywearing.
Take care
Cheers
Melanie
I can travel but asI do not drive I can only take a couple of slings with me when travelling.
I am happy to host as well as we have plenty of space now.
I am in Poringland and could host friday the 18th of july in the morning if there is an interest:)

hello, wow a meet on the 18th july, i think that would be fine, i also dont drive so would need to get a bus or if dp is out i could get him to drop me off, hey i could maybe even persuade him to talk ds3 to the playbarn, the big two would be at school so i could just bring baby, who at this very moment is enjoying his first back carry with a wrap :) i tried it a few weeks ago and he didnt seem quite big enough, but he is now three and a half months and he seems fine, i spent an age last night watching varios videos of how to do it on you tube, and he is now happily sucking his thumb and slobbering all down the back of my neck...... we have even baked a cake :)
how do we do private messages? so we can pass on emails, phone no's etc :)

Hi how much room is plenty!?! I have my friend staying with her 9 month old so if you can fit her in too we would love to come. If she arranges to see other friends that day I can fit more in my car so will let you all know nearer the time.
Simone :)
well if the weather is good the playing fields are just around the corner and if the weather isn't good I have a dining kitchen a study and a livingroom on the ground floor. If we get a lot of interest we can look at the option of renting somewhere for future slingmeets:)
I will do a new post for the meet on the 18th so it is easier to see if people are browsing.
we could set up a yahoo group for exchanging details or I am happy for people to pm or email me to get my address and then we can set up a mailinglist for future meets.
