Welcome Judith :)

So far we've held 2 meetings in Cambridge. One was held in a church hall and the other was outside and both were at the weekend.

Does anyone have any preference as to when or where we hold the next one?

I'm in Norfolk, but Cambridge could be do-able depending on date and time!

Welcome!

I hope you can travel down to Cambridge for a meet. Do you know any babywearers in Norfolk?

Hi - I am in Ely. Have a 3 yr old and expecting number 2 next May. I used a sling (betterbaby) with my first but passed it on to a friend, so I am on the look out for something new !

Would like to come along to a meet next year if possible to see something that might be suitable for the summer months.

Hi,

Welcome! We'll be back on schedule with our regular monthly meetings again in January - the last Saturday of each month.

Join our yahoo group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cambridgeslingers/) if you haven't done so yet to keep up to date too.

We have quite a collection of slings between us so I'm sure you'll find something you'll love :)

Hi Corinne,

Your mum has told me about you! It would be lovely to see you at a slingmeet and you'll find load of enthusiastic babywearers there whose slings you can try out.

Hopefully meet you soon,

Nora

Hi, I'm new here - with a 7 week old baby who loves being carried. When's the next slingmeet? Slightly overwhelmed with the choice of slings and would like a chance to see a few.
thanks

Hello :)
Next meeting is 27th October at The Meadows community centre from 10-12.
If you can't make that, or as well as that, I run a parents and tots group at Castle Street Methodist Church every Thursday morning and there are usually a few of us there with slings who would be happy to run though them with you. If you warn me in advance I'll make sure to bring a selection :)

Hi
I'm expecting my first in February 2011, and am really interested in the Continuum concept and other mother's experiences of slings and babywearing. Also, do Dads get involved in babywearing? Or does the lack of gadgerty throw them (I know my Dp is pretty keen on a Quinny because of the engineering!)
So when's the next meet?

Hi there,

Congrats on your pregnancy and it's great you're already looking into babywearing:-)
We usually hold the meets on the last Saturday of every month, though during holiday times it may change. In the summer we usually meet outdoors too. Dads do get involved in babywearing, and some like the SSC with buckles & clips, others are happy with RS or wraps, it really depends. My dh loved RS and in fact the inventor of the ring sling was a man too!

Keep an eye on the site for details of the next meet but I would expect it to be on 31st July.

Looking forward to meeting you then:-)

absolutely delighted to find that there is a Cambridge section! I am expecting my first baby in December, really want to use a sling of some kind and am a bit lost...will be looking out for news of your next meet as I would love to come along.

Hi,
I've just posted my intro in the main intros area. I live in St Neots, so halfway between Cambridge and Bedford and hope to pop along to Cambridge based sling meets when I can.

Just to let everyone know that there are SlingMeets in Cambridge and in Ely now as well as various sling clinics that we run as a vendor. Very happy to point you in the right direction if anyone would like any further information or details of other local groups that may be of interest.
