Hi from Dorset

Hi im Sue, I live on Portland in Dorset. I have a six month old son who I love carrying although am constantly being told 'you wont be able to do that much longer'!!! at which point my stubborn streak kicks in lol!!!!

I also have a ten year old daughter whom I didnt really carry very much, think i've changed a lot in the ten years since having her!!
Would love to hear from meet up with others who enjoy wearing their babies.

Welcome! Sorry I'm nowhere near you but we've just spent a week in Lyme Regis so have been babywearing in Dorset recently!
It gets really tedious hearing the 'he'll soon be too heavy for you to carry' thing - especially now my ds is over 2. I've taken to saying "I'm pretty sure I'll manage him in the sling until he's 6 by which time he shouldnt need to be carried" - it tends to shut them up though I very much doubt I'll carry him past 4! I used to carry big heavy rucksacks around all the time and nobody ever gave me any grief about them being too heavy. I think some people just lack imagination when it comes to thinking of something to say so feel they have to be negative.
Hope you find some babywearers near you - I didn't see any other slings in Lyme Regis but no doubt there are some somewhere!
