View Full Version : ring sling recomendations
at last i've found a sling that suits us - a ring sling lol
have been borrowing a friends ring sling - a roo baby one i think and we really get on well with it.
but i want one in a funky design (without costing a fortune so i can't have the oopa one i've seen ;( )
so can anyone recommend me a ring sling? there seems to be so many on the market so i'd like to go on recomendations. think i'm after an open tail and a wide shoulder

I really got on with Zolowear, but not everyone does. It has a tailored, centre-fold shoulder that you can spread to cup the ball of shoulder, making it IMO very comfortable. My DP loves his Zolowear too, and still uses it all the time to carry our nearly 2 year old.

I loving my Bara Barn RS at the moment. I am also getting on really well with my SBP RS. They really are very reasonable on price too!

Have you heard of Freedom slings?

These slings look so much better iRL, and it is only £25. You can't really go wrong with this price.
I also think bara barns are fab.
HTH. ;)

I have a huggababy padded ring sling which I really like, its very easy to use and comfortable because of the padding. DH also likes it and the regular size fits both of us well.

I have a Rockin Baby Slings ring sling that I love...so much so that I bought a few wholesale....so if you are interested have a look at their U.S. website www.rockinbabyslings.com and then I have a rough and ready website that is a work in progress with a few left that are for sale www.slingsetc.co.uk
I just love the bright colours and the ones I have are all reversible, so you get 2 slings for the price of 1! Pockets on both sides and the shoulder is stitched but not all the way so does give you a shoulder cap, which makes it very comfy.
Saying all that, I'm now looking for a new type of sling as DD is getting a bit too big for the ring sling for long walks. (still great for going round the shops / house etc) We just got back from a week on the Isle of Wight and I def need a back carrying sling asap. I can get her in a back carry with the ring sling but would rather have a dedicated back carrier. What do others suggest? Mai Tei?
Will be picking brains at the next meet!! Mon 6th Nov, do we have a venue yet?

Hi Nik :-) I've just learnt how to back wrap properly (I can even do it on a moving train now you know lol! :D) and thoroughly recommend it for older babies and especially toddlers. I *promise* you'll get the hang of it once you practise a bit. MTs are good too.
We don't have a venue yet for next month's meeting, but we're working on it...

that is impressive 8o :D
i hired two ring slings from SaSa Slings (http://www.sasaslings.co.uk) have currently got a marsupial mother lightly padded & a blue sky baby wide shoulder sling. they are both good but the mm one wins slightly as i prefer the material & the small amount of padding. only thing is i need it to be a little longer so will see if they can make me a custom one
i also hired a coorie so that i can say i've tried all types od slings. i love it so will be getting one of those too
thanks for all your help

If you want *fancy* and decent UK price *grin* there are AngelTails at www.bitsforbairns.co.uk :) tell 'em trog sent you ;)
just thought i'd better add an update to this thread. i now own a coorie and a marsupial mother ring sling lol.
i orderd the ring sling on the thursday night as a custom length - they made it around 6 inches longer for me. it was on my door step by monday morning which i'm still astounded at.
and i love them both :D
i did have a look at the angeltails ones but none of them seemed to be in stock, not the ones that were long enough anyway. they do look lovely tho
